Days of my trip
Wednesday, July 21
First arcade hit was the one downtown, across SAM the Record man - The arcade which no one knows the name of.
I sit down, do my shit, play some marvel. MastaMind introduces himself to me as a member of Toronto's GT-R. I find Jobo's 2'59" iro on there. I havn't played for a while now and I sucked pretty bad all runs but still managing #1 except that 59.
I finally remember what I do on iro and am about to run a decent CP finally then some guy's like, yo, want to battle? bah, I've already screwed up so what the hell sure.
He's got some capp level like.... high teens or 20, 60 something win %. And I just notice that I'm using Matt's Evo4 with 56/60 wins or something like that, high 90's. He chooses akagi and I've never run that course before.... or maybe once. I'm blocking him and he keeps whistling and I'm drawing a crowd. Keeps calling me a scrub, its ok to lose to a pro but scrubs are fuckers. Takes the loss, chooses akina. Then chooses shou (I anticipated this one). Then chooses Tsui, then akagi again but this time I had like 0 walls and led by over 60ms. Finally he asked some GT-R guy... or I think.... for his GDB. Chooses Akina and I lose. I then go for Iro Rev and I think he says like.... aren't I the best at this? Who is better than me, whats your best time? asking the large crowd that has gathered. Meanwhile my guys showed up and I didn't want to keep them waiting so I said yeah ok, last game. Yeah so I pass him easily and lead by 400m, during that straight I ask my sister if she wants to go so then I just stop at the finish line and wait for the minute he takes to finish. haha, damn that felt good, lots of face the owner of the GDB thanked me for not putting a loss on his card.
I walk out.
Next is orbit. There was no one there that day.
Then we head for dinner at.... some weird very asianish place.
Walk around for a bit afterwards, around 11:30pm now. I head towards the cinema cause it looks like it has games, my sister asks whats this toyish looking place. So I reluctantly walk over only to discover it was a huge arcade. It closed at 12.... and said ID tourny this saturday.
I go in and its a bunch of FOBs. Get some change.... and someone is playing marvel! But the coin slot is taped up on the other side so... no challenge. I sit on IDv2, nobody playing. Immediatly, the guys chillin' at the counter walk over and watch from a few meters back, sitting on the horse game (a now pretty popular game in Toronto might I add!) My sister and my family friend are just laughing, noticing how when I just sit down, they come to check out the challenge. Of course I try iro but I've been playing v3 all day, huge diff. Ugly cp1 but I guess the guy notcied my 34.0 past time so he asked to race so sure why not. My god.... this guy is like my exact equal, he puts in his card and its red flame, same as mine. Except every race, we raced like 10, I would get the head start no matter which ITR I used. So I asked to use his car and he use mine and seriously, my cars start up faster. B-tune base vs his B-Tune, same thing. So because of that, I win most of the matches. Later we discuss times and his are almost the exact same as mine, cept he's better at akina - 51'4 or something..... but his iro is like 35 high, while I'm exact opposite. His 4 course is like... exactly the same o_O....
I didn't ask about the tournament but I read the fine print, open to novice and newbies only.
Besides, I'm busy saturday
