Chuck EC Cheese
What you think of the new Eau Claire?
Summed up:
They bought all of Chuckie Cheese's games or whatever it was called... so you can win tickets and redeem prizes. The whole front area is like this.
1 dollar now = 3 tokens.
Initial D v3 and Max Tune = 4 tokens /play
Token bags = no longer sold, nor are the cards.
If you work it out... $5.33 for 4 games of Initial D v3, I believe. Not great. Kinda disapointed, it seems so expensive there without token bags...
And where the fuck is CvS2 and Cyber On? Don't tell me they got rid of two classics...

This is why EC is gay, now.
Boycott has commenced.

ya it sucks ass, went there yesterday and saw 3 tokens for 1 dollar i was like wtf lol. Time to go to chinook and go 1 dollar for 4 tokens
. Then go play at eau claire
Yeah, I'll probably go buy $20 worth at Silvercity and take em to Eau Claire.
Hell, I should buy a ton at Silvercity, then sell them at a small profit to myself down at EC XD

walked in tuesday, never set foot in that place again.
Nor will I ever. 4 tokens a game is what the price should have been when 4 tokens = 1 dollar.
The current setup = appeals to no one
- people going to have a drink at the bar don't want to walk through that bullshit entrance.
- kids targeted by those games won't be there cause their parents don't want a bar scene nearby.
- hardcores don't want to be seen in such an establishment.
If they didn't have a monopoly, they'd go bankrupt.

on another note: UofC = 1 loonie, no tricks to think about, just pop in your buck and play a game.
No EC = less stress on parking, don't gotta go around looking for a place for hours and worry about tickets and towing.

Their marketing team must really suck, at marketing.
Honestly, if they want to be profitable in the long run, they should have kept the token deals alive, and kept it at 4 tokens per dollar.
I know what they are thinking:
"We want to appeal to a larger age-range of people. In order to acheive this, we must:
(a) Have a Kids Area, in which they can win tickets, and trade in for prizes.
(b) Have an Arcade that teenagers see as a viable choice amongst the arcades in Calgary (read: next to none).
(c) Have a Bar and Restaurant to appeal to the older crowd."
Under (a), as Razor has said already, parents would most likely not want their children next to a bar establishment, therefore, they would tend to stay away.
Under (b), their token strategy of $1.00 for 3 tokens is just not viable, which in the end, will cause them to lose out to at least a quarter of the business they had before.
Under (c), I'm sure people would rather go to a real bar, and a real restaurant, instead of an Arcade establishment with children/teenagers present.
As the monopoly of downtown gaming, their higher prices for games is outrageous. With this new change, they have brought us:
$1.00 for 3 tokens. This works out to be about 33 cents. Sure, they've lowered the 5 token games to 4 tokens, but, by calculation, you see that, you are actually paying MORE than you used to. $1.25 vs approximately $1.32, a leap of 7 cents.
No more token bag deals. Perhaps they were thinking about how much money they lose, by giving out $5.00 more in tokens per $10.00.
This is why we should ALL boycott what used to be a better arcade establishment.

Yeah, it's sick. I mean the kiddy playground I don't really mind, but this 1 dollar for 3 tokens is bs. I'm curious as to what Matt has to say or thinks about the whole thing O.o
Me personally, there's a good chance I will take your boycotting stand as well Lum'.

something matt told me.
if the kiddie games dont work out, then what happens is this:
eau claire WILL go bankrupt in a matter of months.
the choice of 3 tokens per dollar is idiotic. why?
because it is uneven. that is the main reason. 7 cents is extra is nothing. its just UNEVEN!! i do NOT want to put in 2 bux to play a game of ID. you cant buy tokens by the qaurter anymore. like wtf. where am i supposed to get the last token for my last game? fuck that shit. good thing matt has a little supply left.

also you can think of it this way.
takes 4 dollars per 3 games now.
8 dollars for 6 games.
12 dollars for 9 games.
40 dollars to complete LOTS without losing, basically.
instead of 29

Honestly, we should fuck them over, by buying tokens online or some shit.
Even going to any of the TechTown's cost less.
Or, we're thinking about finding the key to the Cove machine ... haha.

Get an empty token bag from EC.
10 dollars of tokens at a TechTown = 4 tokens x .25 each.
So 40 tokens would go into the bag.
Then sell the 40 token bag at $11 or 12 bucks.
Instead of the price at EC which would be about:
.33 x 40 = $13.20
So you make $1-2 profit /per bag. Everyone wins =P Haha, as if anyone would trust you enough to believe there's exactly 40 tokens in the bag, but whatever =D
As well, that's an even 10 games of ID.

as Kishu we should do token deals over the net here and make as much profit as we can while fucking over the EC management.
Profits go to funding trips across Canada to set records? Haha.
