help with the RX-7 spirit

I started with the RX-7 Spirit with manual first ( yea kinda dumb) doing ok so far but still havent got the shifting times correct. Also I need suggestions on which tracks are the best for this car as I keep losing in battles....-_-" or should I finish legend of street first?

Posted by Rocky on Apr18, 04 11:04pm:

1) Shift times are different for each course =)

2) Starting with manual is probably the best choice. I did it, its not hard. You get used to it pretty quick. Just don't panic when you go to change gears, hit a wall, etc.

3) Every car has weaknesses and disadvantages on each course. The FD3S Type R + Spirit are masters on both Akagi Downhill and Akagi Uphill. They're also pretty decent on Myogi [see: phr00t's direct feed video).

4) Finish Legend of the Streets, it's good practice for now ^_^

5) Keep practing and have fun... if you don't have one of those, you're not going to be any good at ID.

Best tracks:
myogi, usui, akagi (first 3)
sucks at the last 3

shift: 6000, 6500, 7000

then shift at 151 for 5th (153 when you're fulltuned)
for DH maps

for uphill, 145

for iro: 134
iro rev: 128

Don't buy parts untill you've got fulltuned
battles + legend are the best ways to earn points.

how about TA ? I tried it once and randomly set a course record for car and overall :P gave 4000 points which I though was decent

TA only benefits in points, if you consistently beat your own times.

I watched phr00t's Myogi and Im very impressed though I did pick up a few points that his first lap compared to his 2nd and 3rd turning was different.
In the first he stayed out until the set of lines which I think was feint drift (im not quite sure of this point) . The 2nd and third phr00ts turn started on the inside land before going out at the second last set of lines and feinting. During the feinting did he let go of the gas when turning outside?

The first one doesn't really require a feint drift, because you aren't going as fast.

That's why he's on the outside lane.

I think so anyways.

so did he grip the first one?

Posted by phomaniac on Apr21, 04 12:53am:

he used just the plain out in out
feinting is when he used the in out in out.
