Akagi DDH CP1

K I don't get it >.>

First thing that totally fucks me up is that first turn, the one you come into with all the speed from start up. I usually reach it while going about 149-151 kmph.. but I just dunno how to clear it without wall hitting. (talking my little Evo3 here).

Should I approach it in 4th? Or should I approach it in 5th and switch to 4th during/before the turn? I usually get out of the corner at about 123-128 kmph, but its too slow >.< Even when I brake, I find myself hitting the outside wall... I'd like to get out at maybe ~130 ish consistently.

And, should I be doing any sort of feints on any of the turns leading up to the first checkpoint (end of CP1) ?

Please share some tips =)

My e3 CP1 was

134 first hairpin clean
135 second hairpin, almsot clean XDD

i dunno.. brake in a straight line so u dont lock up..? OO!~~~ 2nd hairpin turn in all the way ~ONLY~ when u reach the apex, much faster.

Posted by Paldin on Feb3, 04 4:02am:

u should stay in 4th and then break down to 135-138 and then gas it while trying to keep it clean.

Or go into 5th, break drop to 4th, turn, gas.
^ Dc 2 Method.

I drive the R32 and Evo4...
what i do is 4th gear and brake b4 and during the turn...i find that it turns better if u brake while it's turning too...for DC2 you let go of the brake once you turn..but 4WD u need to brake a little bit more.. so just brake and turn and let go during 1/4 of the turn and gas it...

second hairpin you should push it up to 4th gear no matter what car...the secret to this is to keep gassing it while u push it up so the speed stays relatively the same. Then, you press and depress gas while turning right and let go of gas once u hit the left turn and gas coming out of the right turn after. (was that confusing??? )

Oh I know Wes, and I like your style =) But if I can just figure out CP1, then I can finally get that 2'23 I'm looking for.

My best time is 2'27 with a horrible CP2 (I can cut one second off it everytime without any real difficulty), and I think I've learned to take CP4 faster too. Just damn CP1 >.>

ok since the evo3 sucks ass this is what I'm going to assume:

1st turn - stay in 4th, brake early + turn, gas after the apex a bit.

2nd turn - should be in 5th gear but gear down to 4th gear for the turn, you'll be closer to the inside and it will set you up for the next turn.

Evo3 rox on Akagi!!! U duno nth!!
but the rest is true..
the hard turn at cp3 can be turned at 130ish...the secret to it is to aim for the inner wall like IRO style. grind the inner wall at 4th gear and should be fine. That should cut the time by like 1-2 secs by itself!
