[Official] Winter Wangan Midnight Tournament Thread

Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 2 Tournament

Location:
Cinescape, Eau Claire Market

Date:
December 18th, 2005

Entry Fee:
$15

Time:
-Meet up for payment of entry fee and attendance at 1:00pm
-Tournament begins at 1:30pm

Format:
-Everyone will have 6 chances to race and collect as many points as they can based on our scoring system
-The 4 racers with the most points will play in the final which will be decided in 3 games

Prizes:
-Cash, Tokens, Gift Certificates
-1 free drink for everyone

Rules:
-All races will be boost ON
-Courses will be randomly chosen by rolling a dice
-All courses will be included in the Tournament
-Participants will be allowed to use any car they wish
-Interference of fellow racers will result in disqualification
-You only pay entry fee, machines will be set on ?free play?

Estimated Participants:
15-25

Estimated Time:
2-4 hours

NOTE: Deadline for registration will be December 10th, no late registration will be accepted. Please present exact change for payment of entry fee, bills preferably.

OK, now I have a few questions I wanna ask;

1) Would you like all the racers to get their cards through inspection first? Would there be a point penalty if they forget to inspect their cards?

2) Will the machines be set to tournament mode(winner does NOT keep playing so all 4 players will get off the machines) or do we have to set force quit on? If we forgot to change our settings, do we get any kind of penalty?

3) How are the seating decided? Since if they are all 4 players battle, some players might complain that they have to sit in machine 3-4 and does not get the head start...

4) What is the points system like...? (Please make it 4-3-2-1 so at least the loser will get ONE point...)

That's all my questions for now... STi/Hero come do your thing...

1) It will be difficult for all the participants to have their card inspected prior to the tourny so there won't be a requirement for all cards to be inspected first and no points will be taken off.

2)The machines will most likely be set to "tournament" mode so all four racers will get off after a race for the next party.

3)Seating will be chosen randomly. I'll have a diagram of how the parties will be organized with numbers, after attendance each racer will be numbered and placed into the chart so everyone will have an equal chance to sit on different machines.

4)The scoring will go as follows: first place-8, second place-6, third place-3, fourth place-1.

is there going to be a 'loser' bracket. so maybe the people who get bumped out of the final group will get a second shot?

Yea, thank you Razor for pointing that out. Each person will get 5 races to try and collect as many points as possible in order to make it to the finals.

I assume that you are going to take the top '4' people in points; what happens if there is a tie for points, tie breaker race before the final four?

Correct, if there are for example two or more people who have a tie in points to be the 4th participant in the final rounds, we will have a tie breaker round, you get one race to decide who will advance.
