Both Canadian and American law state that a vehicle has to be of at least 15 years of age to be imported for street use even if there is a North American equivalent or counterpart of the same vehicle. That's why you dont see many r34's running around, its not that there aren't people who can't afford them, its just illegal.

Actually, the "15 years old" rule only apply in Canada, you are allowed to own brand new RHD JDM cars in United States

PS: There are NO REAL "GTRs" in Alberta, they are all GTS-T with GTR kits
