isnt that a good thing, the gutters. its suppose to save time and such. |
Generally speaking, yes.
However, if you're raping the wall while in the gutter, it does nothing for you.
You're better off actually not touching the gutters for now, I'd say.

so basicly, use when you need to, got it.
that what tak did, he used it as a last resort. it accually worked for me in the very beginning of the kyle race on akina, i used the gutter in teh beginning to catch up to him, but then lost him at the 5 deadly hairpins.

No, that's not what I mean.
It does nothing to help you, if you don't use it properly.
In fact, a number of the gutters that exist on akina are of no use ... plus, it doesn't increase your speed or anything, it just makes your car clear the turn easier with a higher speed, IF you use the gutters correctly (meaning, you are in the gutter, but not hitting the wall).
All in all, I suggest that you play like this:
approach turn, brake, downshift accordingly, turn, release brake, gas at apex or whenever you think it's safe.
Without watching your vids, I feel that you're probably being over-aggressive at the turns, causing you to crash moreso than not. Take it easy, clean = fast in most cases.
Also, you can just watch other people play, or come to the channel and download some vids ...

Well, i have been taking the turns by;
downshift , brake, gas and turn. its pretty much about how i time it. but if that way works better, ill do that.
i also have another question, when you brake, do you leave you foot on the gas pedal or take it off. or what i mean to say is which is better to do. i found out how to not take by foot off the gas when i brake on akagi when i raced the two guys from tokyo. i felt it gave me more speed through the turns, but the only problem is the understeering when you exit the turn, i had a problem with that when i raced danny in the rain, so i went back and decided not to use gas and it gave me more power and control through the turns. what im saying is, is that any good. im probably not doing it right or i choose the wrong corner to do that on. or does it work better when you let off the gas a little?
and also, what channel on the irc do i DL the vids from. im not sure how to operate my irc.

I've never done gas and brake at the same time, and I don't suggest that you do that.
If you are pressing the gas before you turn ... big mistake. As unrealistic as the physics are in this game, you still have to abide by the basic rules of the street. Ease into the turn before touching the gas. Gas when you know there will be little to no contact of the outside wall when you clear the turn. This will enable you to keep acceleration at an optimum level, as wall raping just leaves you stunned.
All in all ... if you just keep everything clean, you should be running 3'15 at least.
The channel can be found on
Server : irc.dejatoons.net
Channel : #kishu
I'm bbbc and Spoon_RA9 on the channel, if you don't know how to work IRC, consult one of your friends that have the knowledge.
To Akina Master : I run 3'14 constant, you mean, haha. I haven't even had a good run since that 180 run I did for you.
