FF6 would give FF7 a serious run for its money; I'd probably personally say FF6 is better, considering the time period and such forth, but since there's no direct love story in FF6 (cept maybe Celes and Locke) I haven't brought it up =P

ff6 is too old to be better... The materia system was ingenious! FF6 was good I'll give you that, but... there was no game that could stand up to ff7. Also, who'd u use in these games?

ff6 -> card guy, terra, Locke I think?
ff7 -> Cloud, Barret, Tifa (barret is weak ass shit)
Cloud, Cid, red XIII
ff8 -> Squall, Shotgun guy (ivan i think), Rinoa
ff9 -> ah durrrr
ff10 -> everyoneee

While we're on this topic, I think xenogears is a close second to ff7.

ff7 is overrated. i enjoyed 8 more than 7. if you have a problem with a character hitting so much dmg then that means you have a big problem with 8's 'unlimited' limits haha. think closely and 7's materia system isn't something so free and complex. and i guess playing as cloud and hoping sephiroth kicks cloud's ass does not help haha. i thought xenogear's story was more interesting than ff7's. i personally think it goes 10,8,6,7,9.

man when it comes to modern final fantasy games 7 was the best; great system and a great plot. and top notch graphics for its time. followed very closly by ff8. the junction system was just really stupid; but the plot kicked ass (squall is my fav final fantasy hero) ff9 sucked balls, I hated it. ffx was great as well. the system was really diffrent and I actualy enjoyed the plot in it... just that tidus was a little bit of a bitch for me auron kicked all ass


I dont count ffx-2... obvious reasons; and I dont compaire the supernes final fantasy because its really unfair. I mean 2d graphics vs 3d rendering

ff10 - rikku is must on NSG. tidus and wakka.

and for ff8 rocky, you know that the main sorceress is apparently Rinoa in the future when Squall dies in a desert. She hates the world and kills everything. =o!!!
