yes i know, i need optical, thats y i said 5x + optical.

digital zoom is gay, pixil shait.

im thinking of a HP 945 atm. 5.3 MP and 8x optical zoom. 500 american, ~800 canadian. Wut u guys think of this one?

im really leaning toward the sony 800 dollar one, good zoom and nice shape, lotsa funky features. I dont like the shape of that big ass 1000 dollar one.

the olympus is nice too, but 4 MP not enuff, and it has many features for quality that the sony has.

The compact one is more for a enthusiast. The long barrel camera is more of a prosumer. The long barrel has faster shutter speeds if you are interested in capturing fast pics like sports or wildlife.
