Do you think one tactic could be to purposely slow down even more so than usual moments before the turn? Since in a battle it is usually only possible to pass the opponent on the inside therefore having the need to turn earlier.

Well if the runner had purposely slowed down before the turn, it may disrupt the chaser's rythm and crash them to the inside inside wall? It is a risk but i was just wondering if it would work.

Good example is S curves on akina.

A good example would be most turns on iro and the V turn on akagi.
This tactic is viable only if you do it properly, if the chaser is coming up really faster and you slow down earlier (like while the road is still straight) it is possible for the chaser to pass.

The S turn on akina is a bad example since that is taken full gas....

well the peeps in raliegh or NC that i know of crash into each other, so us southeners are dumb. but also in that tactic, lets say the guy you are racing doesnt know that course so well and when you do slow down he will either pull a 'monkey see monkey do' or just pass you up and crash right into the guardrail giving you time to get or drift around the corner.

that is my interpritation of the tactic, unless the opponet you are facing knows the course well and will pass you up, and gets around the corner just fine. then you realize that you slowed down for nothing.

the gutter tactic is when you slide the tires of your car into the inner gutter and just go in.

Share my experience of passing

For Boost on:

-it is likely you will be always behind your opponent ! within 10ms
Always attack for "EVERY" turn , if you see the inside ! Cuz your speed should be 2-5 km faster [due to boost on] ! Get the inside
use your opponent car to help you turn! <-- Do it right, I pass corey , even he did a perfect turn~

-another tatic for boost on is that, since you are 2-5 km faster than your opponent, Try to screw up his rhytm.. it is done by my experiences! it work sometimes but sometimes not! I think this one is hard,, what you do is,, try to move to left and right,, okay assume there is a upcoming sharp right turn, try to run into the right , so if your opponent wanna block u,, they move into the right side line,, then u just suddenly pull yourself back to the left side , like how u do a faint drift but in a "later action" , it really doesn't matter you crush, cuz if your opponent also crush, you still have a huge adventage to pass him ! There are turns that you can just go straight instead of taking proper line to pass in certain of maps :P but it is consider as "cheap":P

For Boost off:
It require more skills and it is just NO way you can pass outside, UNLESS you are like wow 20 km faster than your opponent,,and he fuk up pretty bad on the turn ! Same as the above, get the inside.. slide into him and pass ! Do not attack every single turn ! because boost off is really a bitch, once u screw up , 10m will become 100m within 5 secs!

do you have the alex@ videos?
watch those.

eraser is just shift up then down before a turn.
Do it when your car is in the direction of the turn.

so:

1) move the wheel slightly in the position you want to turn
2) erase
3) (ungas/break if necessary) turn the wheel all the way

Here's a hypothetical question.

You get challenged by someone far better than you, they have more points, a better car, and fish you to that car's home course. Is it unethical to leave boost on to give yourself a chance? =P

boost on is always a must if its a casual battle.
I can't even pass people anymore -_-
but I havn't been using FT cars or decent cars for that matter...

I would say boost on if you don't want to talk. If he really wants boost off then ask if you can have the start.

I dont know about everyone else but i leave boost on anytime a evo tries to bring me to tsuchi

i mean i drive an fc i know its limits and i cant win on tsuchi against them so boost on is my only option and even then its a long shot lolz

my question for you razor is what are the best tuning options for FC

i have a almost full tune option A right now (700000+ points)
just curious as to hood change or tires etc. that i should be trying out ^_^

i can run a 2"29 on akagi dh dry but i cant seem to get it any faster even when done clean i must be missing something

any key things that some people do wrong that can increase your time? ex. downshifting when not needed, line choice etc.

i just want akagi to be my counter fish course lol

*cough* parts dont matter *cough*
I would just choose whatever looks best. Don't bother getting parts until you're full tune anyways. Akagi requires good throttle control more than braking control. Just as long as you keep doing what youre doing (keeping it clean) and attempting to do everything slightly faster you should be ok.
