Gods way of saying "April Fools".

about an hour ago, i was coming back from my college class on friday nights and i had my car for a full day. so, i notice that my lights are going dim and my battary light is on and im like "well this looks serious, i hope i can make it home still and check this out" when i was going down the road.

well, i stop at a four way light and then the lights turn green and i let off the clutch and my car stoped. so i was like, "ah man i let it off to fast again" so i start it up, and it would not start

so then i put my emergency blinkers on (the lights were so dim) and im out there directing traffic so people can go around me. so im calling my dad and this guy comes along and give me a HUGE HAND of help. so then he gets his vehicle to push my car into a mcdonalds parking lot.

so then he ask if i got jumper cables and im like "no i dont" then i told him that my dad was coming and i thanked him and he left. so then my dads comes and we jump it and the car starts. apperently we dont know if its the battary or the alternater ( the generator thingy) that draning the power. so then, my dad and i swich cars and i follow him in my car while i take his truck. so then we come to my towns downtown and i notice the car died again. so we charge it up and my dad says "it has to be the alternator". well, with tons of luck, we make it home for three miles and pull up to my house.

now, ill take the car to the auto parts store and ill see if its the alternator which it should.

the title to this topic should be "mazda played me on april first".

look into the yellowpage for an alternator shop, take off your alternator first, bring it there and get them to test it. Most places will test it for free. If its shot then go buy a rebuild one from there, and if u leave your old alternator there, they will give you a discourt on the new one your buy.

Its a relatively easy job, just a few brackets and the belt. A new one can cost you up to 350 (i checked with Can Tire when my died). and a rebuild one should be around 100. They also comes in a year warrenty. (most places).

This is Calgary tho, but im sure its pretty much the same everywhere else.

well, my attempt to bring it to the auto zone is in failure, but it stoped next to an automotive shop so its there till monday.

and definetly, its the alternator. so ill let a mechanic check it out monday when i go by. ill probably miss school or be in late, but its a good reason why ill play hooky, but i dont care.

LOL nice choice of pic.

yeah, screw mechanics. charged me 44 bucks on an alignment for my rx7, in which they DIDN'T ALIGN. "oh yeah, you have to check out a frame repair shop". thx assholes. didn't even clamp my exhaust, like I asked, either.

**Update**

Well, my dad and i were able to get the car to my house and we took the thing out our selves... it wasnt too bad. it took like 2 hours because we had to use my dads and my grandpa sabel jak to jak it up since my car dosent have one.

so now we are going to the auto zone and bring it in. its accually like 120 ish, it would be 180 but they take off sixty or seventy off when you bring it in.

GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WASNT THE ALTERNATOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR AT ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

it was a faulty terminal that was loose and did not connect to the battary. i had a nieghbor we know help us and we were able to find a good current to start it up and it worked after a hundred times and it started. i drove it for a bit and came back and shut it off and then turn the car on again and it worked

it was also corroded around the terminal so my dad sanded the crap off and tightend it back on.
