Application Process
The following information is intended to introduce you the Koryo Korean Barbeque franchise concept and franchising in general. If you want to turn the idea of operating a Koryo franchise into a reality, you would start by completing an application form which will help you move into the first Phase.
Phase 1
To give you an idea of how this process works, you begin with receiving and reviewing an Introduction Package. Once you have reviewed the contents and decide to continue with the application, you complete the enclosed application and submit it with a $10,000.00 refundable fee. Application form can also be found and submitted online. Then you enter into Phase 1 of this venture where you will have a personal interview and have an opportunity ask various general operational questions. If either you decide this franchise venture is not for you, or if you do not qualify, the application is closed.
Phase 2
Provided that Phase 1 of the process is successful you will be requested to make a deposit to be applied towards Phase Two and Three. Should your application not enter into Phase 3, a portion of your deposit will be refunded. At this time confidential information about Koryo's operational expenses, income, cash flow, etc will be disclosed. For legal protection of our business' integrity you will be asked to sign a confidentiality statement.
In Phase 2 be prepared to receive detailed information on operational structure, review financial documents for previous restaurants, meet key personnel, and tour existing restaurants. At this stage you will truly begin to understand how the heart beats in our Koryo franchise.
Phase 3
Entering Phase 3 of the application means that you have committed to purchasing and operating a franchise. Once Koryo has received all necessary contracts and investments from you, action plans will begin to unravel. You will work with a project manager who will help you choose a location (if required) and aid in the development and coordination of your business. You will be required to take a two-week orientation, which will include hands-on experience in existing stores, in-class or one-on-one lectures, reviewing company manuals, and polishing up any other areas where you may feel challenged. The orientation may take place in two consecutive weeks or be provided on an ad hoc basis, which heavily depends on the development progress your restaurant location and the amount of experience you already have.
