Cloninfo
Launch Website
Cloninfo is a collaborative project done for a University course I took. I was responsible for presenting the material in a professional and streamlined manner, at the same time making it visually appealing by incorporating imagery provided to us.
I went with a slightly more dynamic background via light gray stripes, contrasted by a solid page of white infused with a darker red.
I feel that the darker red commands importance of the subject matter and provides a feel of the material. Red itself naturally demands attention, while we as humans naturally relate anything scientific/medical to blood, which is dark red in color.
Singapore Sam's
Singapore Sam's is a Chinese restaurant in Calgary specializing in a unique dining experience of Chinese cuisine whether you choose to dine in or take out.
I was provided with great imagery to use for this website. The banner itself projects an explosion of flavour infused with the mystery and lure of Singapore. I decided to go with a darker layout to play on that mystery, creating each page as a piece to the puzzle.
SkyMag
Launch Website
SkyMag is a free Bi-Weekly Chinese magazine distributed in high volume around Calgary. It caught on with a fury as readers passionately took every last copy available to them within the week.
I created this website by planning deep into the future of how it can be easily maintained and presented. The layout was done with the intention of displaying the covers of magazines for each year. The bi-weekly distribution made it easy for the covers to all be posted on the front page and simply clicked to view their contents.
Image-wise, I naturally had to create an open feeling, incorporating elements that are reminiscent of a sunny day with scattered clouds. I felt the pieces fit quite well together with the blue/white combo and easy to distinguish layout.

U and Me
U and Me is a popular Chinese restaurant situated in the heart of Calgary's Chinatown. It is known for its late hours and dim sum available at all hours.
I felt that a dark background was needed to complement the restaurant's green and yellow logo. It perfectly puts their images in the spot light. As cliché as it might sound, I wanted to project their restaurant as the light in the darkness - playing on their lights being on during the twilight hours of 9pm - 4am
+ma (Plusma)
Upscale designer eye wear store situated in a posh area of Calgary.
I felt the store interior design itself was quite nice and wanted customers online to get a direct feel of the experience of actually being there.
I decided to retain the store's color scheme and incoporate that feel into the design of the website.
