Volunteer Designs

The Hong Kong Students Association is a University of Calgary cultural club. At the time, they were seeking a different image and told me to give the club an exclusive and cool feel. I decided to comply with that and make it feel as cool as possible, adding elements of mystere and mixing it with imagery of Hong Kong. I was also tasked with designing a new logo to represent the club, which I did by combining the symbol of Hong Kong, the Lotus with the sleek text reminiscent of the mystere of the new club.

UCIdol is a University of Calgary event that replicates an "American Idol" type show scaled down to feature students at the University. I was given the opportunity to redesign their website completely and give it a more modern feel. I accomplished this by taking their existing logo and implementing imagery of a modern, energetic singing competition and scenes from the University of Calgary. The project was finished by collaborating several ideas from the executive council of UCIdol and implementing them into the finished site that is currently displayed.
UCIdol hopes to promote and possibly kick start the careers of talented students and above all, encourage everyone to have fun. All proceeds from this yearly event goto charity.
